On October 31, the Round Mountain Historical Society (RMHS) held an all-day fundraiser with a garage sale, fish fry, cake walk and auction, quilt raffle, hayride, and other Halloween festivities. Attendance was good-the hayride was full of children for two runs, and two cakes were auctioned off. Congratulations go to Steve Arthur, who won the Bow-Tie quilt made and donated by Ms. Crystal Bohannan. Dottie Brower, RMHS president, says the event earned $501 for the Round Mountain Community Center (RMCC) renovation. RMHS and RMCC supporters want to thank everyone for their donations and help. Special thanks to the Emergency Services (ESSC) of Sandy Creek, who donated candy and helped with the Spook House, and to Doris and Ed Hurst who provided the tractor and trailer for the hay-ride. Dottie Brower, with husband, Dee, and other supporters, organized this event as well as past fundraisers for the RMCC. Dottie works hard and deserves many thanks from us for her time and efforts. Please support the renovation of your community center. When finished, it will be available to everyone in the community for a variety of uses for nominal fees. If you can't give money, give your time. For information, or just to tell Dottie and the RMHS "thank you," call her at 259-5683. |
